I wanted to point out a new service from TweetLister. It's called Propertybot, and it allows you to: Get Targeted Real Estate Listings Sent to You on Twitter - Just by Sending a Direct Message. You can find it at http://www.twitter.com/propertybot.

The help page with all the commands is at http://tweetlister.com/propertybot.aspx.

Hope you find this useful!

I think TweetLister is really onto something. It's a great tool. I actually wrote a post about it recently as well. Check it out if you have some time: http://bit.ly/18FUAX

Matt, I so agree with you on this! Twitter is real time search. Even now when I Google a topic, I might see a tweet in the organic results section, which makes me want to tweet more about different topics so that I can start to appear in the organic results section without having to pay for expensive SEO.

I have to be honest with you though, as much as I like tweetlister, I know that some agents in the business right now that do not want to evolve and utilize social media or social networking as a way to advertise properties or for lead generation. Some agents are so scared of technology, they shy away from anything new. Some agents rely simply on the MLS or tradition ways of advertising i.e. direct mail, newspapers, open houses, or their company’s website. There’s a new era of real estate exposure brewing. But, keep in mind that the agent with the most listings wins. The agent with a good contact management system wins. The agent who embraces technology to supplement the way in which they conduct business wins. The agent with sales skills wins. That’s my take on the issue.

I think people will be surprised just how many surfers are now using Twitter as a real time search engine for news, products, services and even real estate.

Definitely a destination that shouldn't be ignored.
